I have watched this show since the first season, and have always enjoyed seeing these kids get their big break by making it onto the show.What can I say about this season other than it has left a bittersweet taste in my mouth. To start off, Paula left, and Ellen DeGeneres joined...now I love Ellen, but I am not sure she is in her groove yet as a judge. Hopefully, as the season goes on, she will find her nitche. Simon is leaving after this season, and really I am not sure who would be able to replace him, I have a bad feeling that the show is going to go downhill fast next season, but here is hoping that it doesn't.
The talent on the other hand doesn't seem to have the pizazz like previous seasons, but do not get me wrong there are some really great performers. I feel there are some great contenders and then there are your average joes. It doesn't feel as well balanced as previous seasons. My pick for the season: Crystal Bowersox. Her bluesy, edgy, soul singing reminds me of Janis Joplin, and would love to hear her perform one of her songs! Lilly Scott I also enjoy...I think you can tell the type of music I enjoy, but they are a couple of my favorites. I am also rooting for DiDi Benami I love her voice and her style of singing. The boys on the otherhand I love Alex Lambert, Lee DeWyze and Andrew Garcia!
Hopefully this season heats up soon, I have found myself somewhat disappointed so far. But I am still watching! COME ON IDOL!
